Cradle of Aviation

Natasha and Dmitri are ready for some summer fun at the "Cradle of Aviation Museum" in Garden City, NY. Their STEM teacher told them to see the exhibit devoted to exploring space.

Virtual Space Exploration

Another amazing summer adventure Dmitri and Natasha recommend is a visit to the Hayden Planetarium, which has it's own "Space Theater." For this next step:

  • Explore Hayden Planetarium at AMNH.

  • Has this adventure increased your enthusiasm for space careers? What specifically do you find exciting?

  • Log answers in your QLV Journal, along with feedback on your trip experience and/or your impressions of video and planetarium.

Summer STEM Educational Program 

Brookhaven Labs offers a highly competitive six-week educational program for high school students, 11th and 12 grades, interested in pursuing STEM learning and experiencing a real-world scientific community.

Space Radiation Lab

During this visit to Brookhaven National Labs (BNL), Dmitri and Natasha learned about the NASA Space Radiation Laboratory housed at their facility.

With astronauts spending more time in space venturing on travels far from earth, it is necessary to study the effects radiation may  on them.

For this step, explore BNL NASA Space Radiation Lab section of their website and write an overview on the importance of the research will have on space travel.
