ROBOTIC KITS
Summertime is here! Emily and Andrew are ready for a fun activity! After learning basic technical language and code in school and their robotics club, they decided to build and code their first robot together.
In this step, research these two robotic kits:
Which kit would you like to try and why? Write your comparison and personal choice overview in travel log.

Learning Robotic Languages
The single most important goal for anyone in the field of robotics is to learn the languages of computers. There are several for robotics, like Python, C/C++, Java. In this step, take a look at:
-
What is the difference between programming and coding?
-
What language would you begin with and why?
Write your comparison and personal choice overview in travel log.

Robotics Camp
Andrew and Emily's FIRST Robotics advisor suggested they attend a regional or national robotics camp. Research the following:
-
Find a summer robotics camp locally by searching: "New York State summer camps STEM/Robotics"
-
Check out: Stony Brook University Summer Tech Camps
-
NASA also provides a national and regional listing of classes held virtually or at top universities across the U.S.
-
Check out: Robotics Alliance Project summer camps
Record your robotics-related camp findings in your travel log. Note two or three camps you might choose.

The Programming MINDSET
GOOD TO KNOW: A good Roboticist develops The Programming Mindset -- be calm, take small steps, form a line by line procedure. As your proficiency with the programming mindset is mastered, it makes it easier to learn any new language.
In this step, check out Must Learn Top Programming Languages for Robotics and journal the top five you want to master.
Another good thing to know: Scouts of America offers Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts merit badges for robotics. Check it out!
